CWE 2013 Exam:-

IBPS - Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will organise the common written exam (CWE) for recruitment of Probationary Officers / Management Trainees posts in the Public Sector Banks (19 participating banks). Almost all major public sector banks (except SBI) are going to recruit based on the performance in CWE and hence the CWE Exam is necessary for all candidates to apply for bank PO jobs in any of these 19 banks. These banks offer most lucrative jobs in the banking sector.

CWE 2013 Dates/ Notification:-

Online Registration:- 09.03.2012 to 30.03.2012

Online Payment of Application Fees:- 09.03.2012 to 30.03.2012

Offline Payment of Application fees:- 12.03.2012 to 07.04.2012

Donload call letter for Written Examination:- After 04.06.2012

Tentative Date of Written Examination:- 17.06.2012

IBPS CWE Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the specified eligibility criteria before applying for the Common Written Examination (CWE):

I.  Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be either -

a Citizen of India or
a subject of Nepal or
a subject of Bhutan or
a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit:-

  • Minimum: 20 Years Maximum: 30 Years
  • The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates. Relaxation as per government of India rules.


Educational Qualification:-

A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Common Written Examination - CWE Syllabus / Pattern 2012:-

Duration of Exam:- 150 Minutes for Reasoning,General Awareness,Computer,English and 60 Minutes for the descriptive Paper for English

No of Questions and Marks for each Subject:

Reasoning: 50 Questions / 50 Marks
Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Questions / 50 Marks
English: 50 Questions / 25 Marks
General Awareness: 50 Questions / 50 Marks
Computer: 50 Questions / 50 Marks
Descriptive Paper based on essays.letter,composition: 25 Marks

Total Question: 250

Total Marks: 250

Also their will be a Negative Marking for the Wrong question attempting.The Wrong Question Will Cut 0.25 Marks.
